Design of generator with built-in turbine

The task of this thesis is the proposal of a permanent magnet generator with built turbine. This solution has a turbine impeller directly mounted in the rotor synchronous generator with permanent magnets. Integration into the turbine power generator is a major advantage and reduce the dimensions of the whole machine. This system is simple, durable and does not require special service. However, both the rotor and stator of the machine, and special stator winding must be protected against water. The biggest disadvantage of this arrangement is that the water flowing through the gap between the rotor and the stator of the machine causes an increase in mechanical loss. The main objective of this work is to design and calculate the total losses of the machine. The proposal will be validated in a simulation program RMXprt and Ansys Maxwell.
